今年，是英國(guó)《衛(wèi)報(bào)》（The Guardian）衛(wèi)報(bào)大學(xué)獎(jiǎng)（Guardian University Awards）第六年承認(rèn)那些激發(fā)學(xué)生和改變社區(qū)的英國(guó)大學(xué)。
2018衛(wèi)報(bào)大學(xué)獎(jiǎng)（The Guardian University Awards 2018）旨在慶祝英國(guó)大學(xué)的多元化機(jī)構(gòu)，以及他們?yōu)闈M足包容性多樣化數(shù)字世界的需求而進(jìn)行更新的創(chuàng)新方式。或許恰當(dāng)?shù)卣f(shuō)，社會(huì)和社區(qū)影響（Social and community impact）是今年提交數(shù)量最多的類別。
來(lái)自斯旺西大學(xué)（Swansea University）的獲獎(jiǎng)作品通過(guò)由員工和學(xué)生組成的開(kāi)放式診所幫助填補(bǔ)了當(dāng)?shù)豊HS服務(wù)的空白。提交數(shù)字緊隨其后的是學(xué)生體驗(yàn)（student experience）類別，該類別被授予薩里大學(xué)（University of Surrey）內(nèi)部的學(xué)生出租機(jī)構(gòu)，旨在解決當(dāng)?shù)氐母咦饨饐?wèn)題。
今年還推出了幾個(gè)新類別，以反映不斷變化的高等教育環(huán)境。
為了承認(rèn)擴(kuò)大大學(xué)參與的重要性日益增加，學(xué)生多樣性被分為兩大類：擴(kuò)大獲取和拓展（Widening access and outreach）以及保留，支持和學(xué)生成果（retention, support and student outcomes）。
