打算申請2018fall 的同學(xué)們注意了！近日美國留學(xué)本科申請同學(xué)們最常用的Common Application系統(tǒng)又一次更新essay題目了！

為什么說又一次呢？因為CA系統(tǒng)2013年剛剛進(jìn)行了一次重大修改，到2015年又對原有的5個題目進(jìn)行了微調(diào)，到今年，微調(diào)已經(jīng)不能滿足他們改革的小心思了，直接又增加了2個新的essay題目！快來和留學(xué)君了解一下吧！

先上兩道新增題目：

新題1：Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

描述一個話題，觀點或者理念，你發(fā)現(xiàn)它很有趣以致于讓你忘了時間。為什么它能吸引你？當(dāng)年想要再深入了解的時候，你尋求什么或者誰幫忙？

解析：新增題目，符合目前美國大學(xué)招生人性化的需求，最終更要的就是各種發(fā)掘你的熱情點在哪里！

新題2：Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.

分享一個你自選的話題?？梢允悄阒耙呀?jīng)寫過的，一個對不同問題的回應(yīng)，或者是你自創(chuàng)的問題。

解析：這個新增題目厲害了，完全開放式命題，樂于挑戰(zhàn)腦洞大的同學(xué)可以嘗試下。

原題1： Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

解析：無變化。

原題2：The lessons we take from obstacles we encountercan be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

我們從遇到的困境/阻礙獲得的經(jīng)驗教訓(xùn)是我們之后成功的基礎(chǔ)?；貞浤阍?jīng)面對過的一次挑戰(zhàn)、一場阻礙、一種失敗，它是如何影響你的？你又從中學(xué)到了什么？

微調(diào)前：The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

解析：將原來題目中提到的failure擴增到challenge, setback or failure，增加了可選的題材。

原題3：Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?

回憶你曾經(jīng)質(zhì)疑或者挑戰(zhàn)一個信仰或想法的時刻，什么影響了你的思維？你又獲得了什么？

微調(diào)前：Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?

解析：從原本的挑戰(zhàn)信仰，增加了質(zhì)疑，后面的詢問也從做了什么，是否做了正確決定改為思維的改變及收獲。

原題4：Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

描述一個你曾經(jīng)解決過的問題或者你想要解決的問題?？梢允侵橇μ魬?zhàn)，研究查詢，道德困境——不論限制，任何對你個人來說非常重要的都行。解釋它對你的意義，為了解決它你采取了哪幾步，或者你覺得可以采取方法可以得到解決方案。

解析：無變化。

原題5：Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realizationthat sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others. 

討論某一次成就，事件或者領(lǐng)悟，它標(biāo)志著你的一段個人成長和關(guān)于你自己或者他人的一次新理解。

微調(diào)前：Discuss an accomplishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family.

解析：題目范圍變得更加廣泛，從具體意義上來看跟原題意思變化不大。
